A nice crowd was on hand for our June meeting. There were plenty of watches and clocks on display and for sale in the mart, and Brooks Coleman help a spirited and fun auction just before the business meeting came to order.
The watch group enjoyed viewing, buying and swapping wristwatches and pocketwatches, some of which Jim Davis bought while on vacation in Manila, Philippines.
Vice president Michael Mellard presented the June program by taking us for a walk though time. He chronicled the history of timepieces from 3500 B.C. when the Egyptians began to construct huge obelisks which served as primitive sundials, all the way to 1967 with the invention of the atomic clock.
