We had quite a meeting for June! Not only did we have an excellent hands-on demonstration, but we also had a lovely covered dish lunch at the beautiful home of David and Kathy Edwards!
The program featured Charles Schubert from Seattle who spoke about the art of applying metal powders to clocks with stencils (both wood and glass) called bronzing. Although silver powder was sometimes used, it would tarnish to black unless it was placed on the inside of glass. This fascinating art was shown through a short slide presentation, example pieces, and then in person as Charles lent his patient expertise to samples for our Chapter to try. When asked how long it took to cut some of the more complex stencils, Charles replied that it took "one to two TV shows."

The feast preceeding the program was quite a spread, which was complimented by the Edward's homestead. Lush trees and bushes provided plenty of shade, and there was no shortage of space! Clusters of tables and chairs were spread out all around the yard encouraging exploration of the beauty. A popular attraction was the waterfall that spilled into a pond of goldfish. Thanks again to David and Kathy for opening their home to the Chapter.
