The club went high-tech in June as Al Grosskreutz showed us how to list items on the electronic auction house, ebay. Al and his daughter, Gail, went step-by-step, showing the procedure via a projection computer monitor.
Al outlined the steps in connecting to ebay (at www.ebay.com), and described getting a seller’s account. Through his own experience, he said not to be surprised if your first attempts are received rather coolly, as you have no history, and people are more skittish in dealing with you. However, as your reputation grows (via buyers’ evaluations of dealing with you), so does the activity on your merchandise.
To demonstrate putting a clock up for auction on the web, Al took several digital pictures, and Gail loaded them into the computer, cropping them to a good size. Then they used another program to put the picture and descriptive text together. Finally, they uploaded it all to the web for the world to see (and buy)!
